Upcoming Launch by Mahindra in India

Mahindra Mojo

Mahindra Mojo Overview :

Mahindra's foray into premium sporty bike segment is a decent effort. While some might finds its looks a bit strange, and name a bit tongue-in-cheek, there is no denying the fact hat bike will grab attention. Mahindra is known for its robust vehicles, which can take a bit of knocking and yet are loaded to the gills. Expect nothing less from Mojo too, considering this is going to be the flagship of Mahindra's range.

Mojo Overview

Mahindra Expected Mileage And Prices :

Mojo remains untested for mileage as of now, but expect it to be close to the rivals in the segment, or maybe even better. Mahindra Mojo expected to come in price range of 140000 to 180000.

Mahindra Expected Performance and Handling :

26bhp in a 160 kg bike should be snippy to say the least and a recipe for good fun. Expect good times in red light grand prixs. There are few bikes which will be able to catch up with the Mojo if the claimed performance can be put down on the tarmac.

Triumph launching on November 28

Triumph launching on November 28

British motorcycle manufacturer Triumph has confirmed that it would be making its India debut on November 28.

This news will please all the Triumph aficionados across the country has been finally heard as the company released a press release confirming that it would be entering the Indian two-wheeler market on November 28, 2013. The British motorcycle manufacturer had generated a lot of curiosity among the performance deprived bikers in the country with its mouth watering pricing back at the 2012 Auto Expo in January when it first showcased its bikes for the Indian market.

Triumph launching on November 28

But it had to delay its foray into our motorcycle spectrum since it wanted to enter via the CKD route and for that it had to set up a production facility at at Narsapura, in the outskirts of Bangalore. But since the prices were announced, there was frenzy among its fans as everybody expected that the bikes would hit showrooms by end of 2012 but due to various bottlenecks its entry got deferred to 2013. It sis still not clear which all models from its stable would make its way to our market but it is almost certain that the iconic Bonneville, Street /Speed Triple, Daytona 675, adventure bike Tiger 800 XC and the flagship Rocket III would make its way to our shores.

Triumph launching on November 28

Also at the launch, details regarding the dealer and service network would be divulged. Given the rise in Dollar rates and other factors it seems that Triumph would not be able to stick to the original pricing, which it had announced at the 2012 Auto Expo. Still, if it is able to implement the CKD route, the pricing of its bikes would be significantly cheaper than most of the performance and superbikes on sale in the country which come via the CBU route. Also, recently spy shots of a Triumph Street Triple with a single cylinder 250cc engine was also spotted in Spain raising suspicion that Triumph is developing a India-specific model which could also be exported to other Asian markets like the KTM Duke 390 and the up-coming Harley-Davidson 500cc bike.

Splendor is the highest selling motorcycle brand in the world and is single-handedly responsible for the success of Hero MotoCorp.

The new Splendor has now become the first motorcycle in India to get a start-stop system. HMCL has introduced the new i3S Technology (Idle Start and Stop System), which automatically stops engine when idle and turns it back on when needed. This leads to improved-fuel efficiency on a bike which is already popular for its economical fuel consumption as well as more restrained CO2 emission.
The other Splendor models too will come with a number of upgrades. The refreshed 100cc Splendor Pro gets a new carrier and rear cowl, improved ergonomics, new graphics, redesigned dial, new side-stand indicator and black alloy wheels.

Ducati 1199 Panigale S Senna Limited Edition

Ducati 1199 Panigale S Senna Limited Edition

Ducati released limited edition 2 wheeled 1199 Panigale S Senna, Ducati paid tribute to the legendary Brazilian Formula 1 World Champion Ayrton Senna, who passed away 20 years back in May 1994.

The Ducati 1199 Panigale S Senna Limited Edition motorcycle has been produced in accordance with the Senna Foundation and would be sold exclusively to the Brazilian market in limited numbers. The 1199 Panigale S Senna would see a production number of 161 as a mark of honour signifying the number of F1 races Senna raced in. Also the livery combining colours of grey, black and red given to the motorcycle was chosen by the legendary driver himself when he visited the Ducati factory a few weeks before the ill-fated Imola Grand Prix in 1994.

Ducati 1199 Panigale S Senna Limited Edition

The Ducati 1199 Panigale S Senna Limited Edition is not the first motorcycle paying homage to Senna. The very first bike from the Italian manufacturer was a Ducati 916SP named the “916 Senna I” finished in the same colour combination and offered in limited numbers of 300 units in 1995. Later in 1997 and 1998, two more special editions were announced by Ducati with the Ducati 916SP in similar livery called “916 Senna II” and “916 Senna III”.

Ducati 1199 Panigale S Senna Limited Edition

The Ducati 1199 Panigale S Senna Limited Edition would be available for sale from June 2014 and come fitted with a race exhaust. Each motorcycle would have the production number inscribed on top of the fork clamp. Ducati has added another model to its Superbike range, the long awaited Ducati 1199 Panigale R. Asphalt & Rubber was first to break the news on the “R” version of Borgo Panigale’s namesake, so it is fitting that we were one of the first publications to ride this homologation-special — taking part in Ducati’s international press launch at the new, and very technical, Circuit of the Americas race course outside Austin, Texas.

Ducati 1199 Panigale S Senna Limited Edition

A purpose-built facility for the Formula 1 Championship, the Circuit of the Americas also has a ten-year contract with motorcycling’s premier class, the MotoGP Championship. This means three races will be held in the United States of America this year, which makes America MotoGP’s second-most visited countries in 2013. That distinction seems fitting, as the United States has also officially become Ducati’s number one market, not just for superbike sales, but in overall bikes sold.

Ducati 1199 Panigale S Senna Limited Edition

The Ducati 1199 Panigale R comes to us a year after the original Panigale launch, and coincides with Ducati’s factory re-entry into the World Superbike Championship. Make no mistake, the purpose of the “R” machine is to give race teams a purpose-built racing platform that caters to the strict rule books of international racing, and thus caters not to the feedback of road-going consumers, but instead from the input of racers, and to a lesser-extent, motorcyclists with serious track day addictions.

Ducati 1199 Panigale S Senna Limited Edition

The big enhancements of the Panigale R over its predecessors are actually pretty limited in number, and are comprised of a four-way adjustable swingarm pivot, titanium con-rods, a lightened flywheel (600 grams), a diamond-like-coating on the engine rockers, and 500 more revolutions per minute up top. Add in some carbon fiber, 15/41 tooth sprockets front and back, a race seat cover, a taller windscreen, a unique red livery, and the simple fact that the Ducati 1199 Panigale R is not only the most powerful motorcycle to come from Borgo Panigale (201+ hp with included race exhaust) but also the lightest (165 kg / 364 lbs dry). Tech-spec paper racers, you can just top reading here. Fresh pants are in the closet.

Ducati 1199 Panigale S Senna Limited Edition

Addressing the previously peaky power delivery of the Panigale, Ducati also coaxed some more midrange out of the Superquadro engine for the Panigale R, but in reality it is the revised ride-by-wire (RbW) programing, which above 3,000 rpm’s delivers significantly more fuel relative to throttle position on the handlebar, that accounts for the added grunt to the Panigale’s midrange — a modification that is being retrofitted to 2012 model year base model and “S” machines.

The Ducati 1199 Panigale R marks the fourth bike in Ducati’s arsenal to carry the “Panigale” name, making the superbike category a crowded space for the company’s flagship model. Getting a race exhaust, DDA+  data acquisition with GPS, a quick-shifter, electronically adjustable Öhlins suspension, and traction control, the Ducati 1199 Panigale R shares many features with the Ducati 1199 Panigale S Tricolore. With only a $2,000 price difference between the two machines, the Panigale R looks like a venerable bargain, with its engine modifications, when compared to the previous top-of-the-line model.

Similarly when compared against the Ducati 1199 Panigale S, the Panigale R again has an attractive allure, considering how many “S” owners will opt for the $3,500 full-exhaust system by Termignoni, and the bevy of Ducati Performance parts that come standard on the “R” model. With the engine and chassis options left to command only a few thousand dollars in a price premium, we have no trouble believing that Ducati will find owners willing to pay for the exclusivity of the Ducati 1199 Panigale R.

First Look: 2014 BMW R1200GS Adventure

BMW curious to update and launch the new R1200GS Adventure, which will be unveiled to the public at the EICMA show in early November. As expected, the new Adventure is powered by the same air- and oil-cooled 1,170cc boxer twin found in the standard GS, replete with “vertical-flow” heads and an integral six-speed gearbox featuring a wet clutch. But for improved tractability, especially when negotiating tight off-road trails, the engine’s flywheel has been made nearly 2.1 lbs. heavier, which, together with a new vibration damper between the gearbox and shaft drive, is said to improve powertrain smoothness.

The 2014 Adventure, based on the tubular chassis of the standard GS, has 0.8 inches more travel front and rear, and the new 7.9-gallon aluminum fuel tank is 2.6 gallons larger than a standard GS’s. What’s more, the big Adventure model is fitted with a steering damper, and an unspecified tweak to swingarm geometry is claimed to improve the bike’s handling.

BMW curious to update and launch the new R1200GS Adventure, which will be unveiled to the public at the EICMA show in early November. ABS and ASC (Automatic Stability Control) are standard, as are two new electronic ride modes: Rain and Road. In Rain, gentler engine response helps the rider maintain control in slippery conditions, aided by stability control tuned to intervene more quickly. If BMW’s semi-active Dynamic ESA has been ordered, the suspension damping softens. In Road mode, engine response is more immediate, and both ABS and ASC are tuned for conditions with good grip. Dynamic ESA, if fitted, maintains standard damping.

As on the standard R1200GS, the new Adventure is also available with optional Dynamic, Enduro, and Enduro Pro riding modes that are activated via a coding plug. In the sportiest mode, Dynamic, the engine is tuned for “direct” throttle response, and more restrained ASC intervention allows riders to slide the rear a bit. ABS is configured for on-road use, and if Dynamic ESA is on the bike, it switches to firm damping. Enduro mode, for off-road terrain, softens engine response for added control, while reduced ASC intervention means experienced riders can power-slide the rear wheel at will. ABS is optimized for loose surfaces, and Dynamic ESA, if fitted, goes to a soft setting. The last mode, Enduro Pro, allows the full off-road potential of the new GS Adventure to be explored. Designed for use with knobby tires, Enduro Pro offers “spontaneous” engine response, and ABS to the rear wheel is shut off to give the rider better directional control of the bike. Dynamic ESA, again if fitted, switches to a firm setting.

First look: Yamaha introduces new FZ-09

Feel the new Yamaha FZ-09 it is born with three-cylinder motor, but from the die-cast aluminum frame which wraps from the steering head around the engine (so far, so normal), then inside the swingarm. While the seat height is a fairly normal 32.1 inches (.7 inches taller than the Triumph), it feels like a smaller bike because it’s immediately and perceptibly slimmer between your legs.
The Crossplane Crankshaft Concept 3 was shown at last fall’s Intermot Motorcycle Show in Cologne, Germany, rumors swirled about a new Yamaha inline-three-cylinder-powered sportbike. Turns out they were well stubbed Yamaha just announced the FZ-09, a brand-new naked sportbike powered by a Triple that’s a spitting image of the one displayed in the concept bike. Production of the FZ-09—the first of possibly many Triple-powered models based on the concept—has already begun, and the bike has a competitive suggested retail price of $7990.

The Triple is an all-new design, a liquid-cooled, dohc, four-valve-per-cylinder powerplant displacing 847cc. It’s counterbalanced and naturally “crossplane,” as Technical Editor Kevin Cameron reported in his web story on the concept. Like Triumph’s three-cylinder engines, the Yamaha’s three crankpins are spaced 120 degrees apart. “With this arrangement, there is zero shaking of the engine’s center of mass and zero crankshaft rpm flutter caused by piston inertia torque. But there is a side-to-side rocking. In modern engines, this ‘rocking couple’ is canceled by a crank-speed balance shaft,” wrote Cameron. The FZ-09 engine uses an even firing order.

Yamaha threw a lot of technology at this new engine, highlighted by features such as YCC-T (Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle) and Yamaha Drive Mode (D-Mode), which offers three power-delivery maps. To ensure a wide spread of torque, three different-length intake funnels are used: 82.8mm, 102.8mm and 122.8mm. Tuned for strong low-end and midrange grunt, the new Yamaha Triple produces a claimed 65 foot-pounds of peak torque (measured at the crankshaft). The exhaust is a stainless-steel, three-into-one design with an undermount muffler/catalyst chamber (sans EXUP) and a MotoGP-inspired silencer.

An all-new aluminum frame and swingarm form the foundation of a sporty chassis. The 41mm inverted fork and single shock have preload and rebound adjustments. Tires, 120/70-17 front and 180/55-17 rear, mount to lightweight 10-spoke, cast-aluminum wheels. The suspension has 5.4 inches of travel up front, 5.1 in. out back. Wheelbase is identical to Yamaha’s FZ6R’s (56.7 in.), which is also about 3/4 of an inch shorter than the FZ1’s or the outgoing FZ8’s.

A 25-degree rake and 4.1-inch trail implies agile handling. Another indication of the FZ-09’s sporting intent is the 414-lb. wet weight (full tank of fuel), which puts the FZ-09 in the ring with Triumph’s Street Triple R (395 lb. dry), while also being considerably lighter than the 487-lb. (wet) Yamaha FZ1 and 467-lb. (wet) FZ8.

Considering this new Yamaha’s price, the FZ-09 has an impressive list of high-quality components. In addition to the chassis details noted above, this Yamaha also has excellent brakes: a pair of 298mm discs pinched by radial-mount, four-piston calipers in front and a single-pot rear with a 245mm disc. Others features, such as a tapered aluminum handlebar and a brake pedal, shifter and footpegs made of forged aluminum, are rarely seen on bikes in this price range. The lightweight LCD instrument panel and new handlebar switch pods are a nice touch, giving the FZ-09’s cockpit a polished look and feel.

The FZ-09 feels very light and narrow. Its 32.1-in. seat height is reasonable, and the fit, finish and quality exceeded our expectations given the MSRP.

Honda CBR250R is now new Police Rakshak with IJS Electronics

Indian police are getting the auto support to make thier duty more easier, recently TATA NANO added to thier armory and now its the turn of HONDA CBR 250R, earlier the Royal Enfield Bullet 350s were the only motorcycles to be widely used by the police forces across the country. The advent of powerful yet reasonably frugal motorcycles such as the Bajaj Pulsar and the TVS Apache has seen many police forces across the nation deploying these motorcycles as their patrol bikes.

At the recently held 16th Indian International Security Expo 2013, Honda teamed up with Grand IJS Electronics to showcase a Police Model Design of the Honda CBR 250R sportsbike. Notably, the Honda CBR 250R has been doing police patrol duty in Malaysia right from its launch there.
The vehicle heighlites are High Efficiency LED Lights to minimize power consumption, Red and Blue beacon lights, Collapsible pole lights, Torch light, Police siren, Public address system with microphone, Utility box, Helmet with hands free microphone.

The arrival of the KTM Duke 390 has put pressure on the Honda CBR 250R as the ABS equipped models of the CBR 250R are more expensive than the Duke 390, which also comes with ABS as standard. Since the CBR 250R features an engine that comes with a much lower power and torque rating than the Duke 390 (43 Bhp-35 Nm), sales of the motorcycle have been impacted by the Duke 390's launch.

The Duke 390's fully faired version, due in 2014, is expected to further add to the pressure on the CBR 250R sold in India. In light of these developments, the Police Model Design CBR 250R could give the Japanese two wheeler giant an additional avenue of garnering sales. For now though, the Police Model Design version remains a showcase of the CBR 250R's potential.

The weight added to the CBR 250R due to these accessories hasn't been revealed by Honda. Also, pricing remains unknown. The motorcycle continues to feature the 250 cc liquid cooled, single cylinder four stroke engine that outputs 26 Bhp-22.9 Nm. This engine is mated to a 6 speed foot operated manual gearbox. The CBR 250R is also available with Honda's C-ABS as an option.
This vehicle is designed in partnership with Delhi-based Grand IJS Electronics, the Honda CBR250R Police motorcycle.
