This Nano is now the 'Rakshak' for India. Tata Nano is going to wear red, blue and other beacons for government vehicles. Nano is now stubbed with medical gadgets, a first-aid kit and a set of red-blue beacons, a siren and search lights, and it can be used by lady police drivers to rescue women and children in distress from Delhi streets.
The Tata Nano has been showcased at the ongoing 16th India International Security Expo which is taking place in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. This new 'Avatar' of the Nano is thanks to the security firm ‘Grand’, which is known for supplying red, blue and other beacons to government vehicles. It comes equipped with medical gadgets, a first-aid kit and a set of red-blue beacons, a siren and search lights. Grand says that it can be used by lady police drivers to rescue women and children in distress from Delhi streets.
The security firm Grand Monty Singh said "We have just launched a concept of using the small car for emergency response instead of the big PCR vehicles being used at present by Delhi Police. We would want the police and other agencies tasked for exigency duties to have a look and see if this fits their bill".
Union Home Secretary Anil Goswami also said "It is good that indigenous efforts are being made in the security gadgets and devices domain in the country. I will ask officials in the paramilitary and police forces to see whatever this exhibition offers and explore if they need something for their use".

Tata Motors delivered a fleet of Nanos to the Mumbai police on an experimental basis to see whether the Nano would fit in well as a police car. Coming to think of it, the Tata Nano and its diminutive dimensions makes a bunch of sense considering how crowded Mumbai is as a city. Also, the Nano’s high fuel economy would mean that the city runabout would be just at home doing patrolling duties in the city that never sleeps. The inexpensive Nano costing only twice as much as a motorcycle, would also offer the Mumbai constabulary all weather protection and respite from doing patrolling duties in crowded areas by foot, as is the case currently.
The Tata Nano hatchback is all set to head to Goa also and do duty among the Goan cops as a police car. While Goa might not be as crowded as Mumbai, most Goan back roads are more like alleys and it is here, where a car with a narrow track like the Nano would be right at home. As has been the case with Mumbai, the Tata Nano that has been painted with Goan police colors will be an experiment to see whether it fits the rigors of being a cop car.
“We use motorcycles to do patrolling in narrow lanes in the city. However, Nano car has more than one advantage, while it takes less parking space as compared to other Sedan cars, it can replace bikes as far as doing night patrolling is concerned and weapons can also be stored in the duct of the car,” said a senior police officers.
The ultra-compact car Tata Nano launched back in 2009 has almost reached every nook and corner of the country and that includes the country’s police stations too. The small car project driven by Tata Motors to become a primary mode of transport, synonymous with the two wheeler in India, has won the hearts of the Thane Police to put Nano in a different light altogether.

This shows that Tata Motors is definitely going places with Tata Nano small car which has many things going at the moment with the bombshell in hand. Tata Nano is being fully utilized by Tata Motors with an estimation of 2,000 units sale of the small car in Bangladesh with the help of their local distributor Nitol Group. The car is expected to sell like hotcakes in the country despite its price to creep up to Rs 4.08 lakh in Bangladesh which is basically 650k Taka in local currency.
