BMW Series 1 Launched in India

Luxury cars compartment in India is strengthened with the new launch of BMW Series 1 in Mumbai. The car maker from Germany stated the price as 20.9 to 29.9 INR and is available in both petrol and diesel versions as BMW116i and BMW118d(also available in sport and sport plus).

The cars manufactured at Chennai plant and BMW going to increase the investments on this to Rs 390 crore by this year end.

Iconic cricket player "Master blaster" Sachin Tendulkar released the car and he named it as this 'fantastic' will give joy to the riders on the roads like Mumbai, also stated "As a car, I like the entire package. The whole car is beautiful. It is not just the size but also the styling, like putting the 3, 5 and 7 series together in this wonderful package called the 1 series. It is fantastic. I am looking forward to get this car and zip around Mumbai".

BMW Group India President Phillip Von Sahr says "We are increasing investment in Chennai plant to Rs 3.9 billion from Rs 1.80 billion. We have also ramped up the capacity at the plant to 14,000 units per annum from 11,000 units."
